Morimoto & Flay

A dining experience on its own level!  Morimoto (the Iron Chef) has his restaurant in Chelsea.  They were participating in Restaurant Week, which means you can get a three course meal for a fixed rate (just from a limited choice of items - their best items usually).  Here we got soup, sushi, and dessert which was AMAZING!  Mom got a beef dish that was also fantastic.

The reason this place was so cool was because of the decor.  The tables are separated by glass, the walls are covered with plaster that looks like draped fabric, and there is a wall of water bottles with LED lights.  It is amazing!  Everything is really modern - and very comfortable at the same time.   Walking outside on the sidewalk all you see is a red drape - you would have NO idea that behind it is an amazing place.

Mom & Dad with the dessert plate.  We forgot to take pictures of the sushi.  I loved the Salmon, and Eel (really all of them) - but the clam..... yuck!

This is going to sound funny - but the coolest part of Morimoto is the bathroom.... trust me, you really have to see it to understand.  It is all sleek and smooth - and the toilets are bedays.  Sounds funny, but again you have to experience it to understand.  I'll just say - hot water, heated seats, and a dryer - you'll never feel so clean!

We also went to Bobby Flay's place Mesa Grill.  We didn't take any pictures here (opps) but the food was AMAZING!  We got salads, and Deven and I got stuffed chilies.  Wow!  The chilies were filled with egg-plant, cheese, and onion - with sauces that were to die for.  The dessert was either cornbread pudding, or chocolate pineapple cake.  What a great way to use flavors.  I can see why he is a celebrity chef.  Very good!
