July 4th - the Huntington Beach way!

We had a great 4th of July weekend.  The Waite family came to play and stay. We got to play at the beach, watch the parade, have a BBQ, street fireworks, and the city beach fireworks.  It was a lot of fun crammed into a few days.

We started off the weekend with breakfast at Ohana breadcrumb.  Best french toast!
Then off to the beach.  Kasen, Deven, Remy
 Shelley, Damen
Sunbathing secrets swapped by Deven and Remy.  Love this daddy daughter relationship.
We got a great parade spot - thanks to a crazy early wake-up the day before, and a frantic job down to the spot the morning of.  We had to wait awhile before the parade started so sidewalk chalk and poppers were our friends.
Kasen, Remy, Damen - showing their cute flag shirts.  Visors from Aunt Ashley

The sky typers were out all day.  We were excited when we could see them from our house.  "Happy 4th" written with vapor in the sky - pretty cool.
We were invited to a BBQ at some ward friend's house.  So many cute kids to play with.  The sparklers were a hit - but they sure don't last as long as they used to.
We had fun watching the box of fireworks Uncle Stephen bought.  Damen was a bit unsure of the loud ones.  Sweet little 2 year old!
After the BBQ and neighborhood show - we (literally) ran down to the beach.  We had to park about a mile (or maybe 2) away. We didn't have much time to get down to the water, so we RAN!  We threw our blanket down, and the fireworks started seconds later.  I'm so glad we went down!  It is my favorite part of the 4th.  The kids all fell asleep on the way back to the car.
