We had a GREAT 4th of July with the family this year. We started off the day walking down to the parade on main street. I love how we can just walk down right before it starts and find a great spot right on the sidewalk. It was a perfect overcast 65 degrees - and the kids LOVED it.
Kasen kept looking around the people next to us craning to see what was coming next. He like the bands and all the people.
Remy loved the horses and anyone wearing a funny hat or "bow"
Kasen telling us there are "two" mini horses.
Waving at the people.
Both kids were given flags - Kasen was handed one by a soldier, and a few minutes later Remy was thrown one by the major. They loved waving them!
After the parade - lots of fun!
After a good long nap we played outside the rest of the day. The kids got their first taste of "poppers" and loved them. They ate way to many treats, and played with their buddies. We had a neighborhood BBQ making J-Dawg imitations - yum!
After the BBQ we got bundled up and ready to bike down to the pier. But first we had a little pre-show fireworks thanks to the Height family. The bike ride was fun, and the kids did great. They loved the fireworks! I was worried Remy would be scared, but she liked all the "purple" fireworks.
Kasen - past bedtime, being SO silly. Sweet breakdancing moves.
