Show Pictures

This has been Deven's life for the past month or two - so I thought I should finally put up some pictures.  They really don't do the shows justice - but it is a good teaser.

PATTERNS & PEICES
This is Deven's BFA show that is up right now in the HFAC.  He has received a lot of positive feedback from both family, friends, and complete strangers.  Thanks for all the peeps who have gone to see it.  It is (as I have explained below) on Autism, and opened on World Autism Awareness day.  He has had multiple people tell him he should market this to have in doctor's offices - or sell it online.  Pretty cool that people are getting the message he wanted to convey.

Here is Deven making the pieces.  He designed the photos and hand drew the patterns.  Then he mounted it - then mounted that to huge sheets of magnet.
Here he is photographing Abby.
Here we are after a long day of putting the show up.  I didn't do much until that night - but Deven had been there all day.
Here is the proud artist.  If he looks tired - it is because he hadn't slept for like 6 days.
This is how the pieces were cut - all by hand.  In case you were wondering how long it takes to cut that big and thick of poster - it takes 33 hours (give or take a few)
Here Deven is modeling what the audience is suppose to do.  (:
A nice shot of the back board with Abby "done" - and the artist's statement

COLOR THE ISSUE
This is the "Color the Issue" show that was a few weeks ago.  It was a huge instillation in the HFAC with the whole class's work.  Everyone made a book - and an accordion poster.  It was a really thought provoking show, and very beautiful.
This is where you would "vote" for the issues.  Each color represented a different side.
Part of Deven's poster on In-vitro.
One spread of his book.  This is my favorite page.  The purple was "pro" the green was "negative."  It was interesting to read comments about both sides.  Some people were really mean about the issue -thinking the artist was against it.  Funny that we might be actually doing it soon.  That is proof that he stayed neutral.
Each book had a shelf like this - with the color cards.
