Newport trip 2013

We just finished up our week with the Stephens family.  It was our annual Newport Beach getaway.  This year we had a choice location in the villas and we used more of the hotel then ever before.  We were right by the park - so that was an every morning event.  We were close to the pool - which was an every day event.  We also utilized the morning activities in the children's room.  One evening we even got a chance to play ping pong, and pool.

Damen learned to crawl this week!  He liked exploring the hotel room.

The kids were able to swim all by themselves with their rad little jackets.  It was GREAT!

We found Damen sleeping sitting up a few times this trip. 

Deven's cousin Charlie and her great family came to play this year.  It was so fun to have kids to play with my kids!  And Charlie and Josh are great.  We always enjoy hanging with them.

One of the days the hotel did a princess tea party.  It was really cute.  Kasen wanted to be a prince and enjoy the free apple juice and crackers too.  The next day they had a pirate scavenger hunt that was darling and the kids LOVED it. They both have asked if we could go on a treasure hunt again.  

We had two beach days.  I still haven't learned to fully relax and enjoy the beach with kids.  Maybe someday.  It was fun nonetheless.  Remy and Kasen loved playing with the Melvin kids - they had a blast making mermaid tails in the sand.

The last day we headed out to Irvine park and went to the little zoo.  Kasen fell a few times and got dinged up - but in-spite of that all the kids enjoyed it.

We also had a great Disneyland day.  It was our official last day until summer is over.  It was also cousin Altons first trip to Disneyland.  It was hot and very busy - but we got to do some of the favorites and the kids earned a long time promised Mickey Mouse sucker.
